Being a workaholic has started to get to me, so in an effort to get out more I have decided to take a walk after dinner (as often as possible). I want to get to know the city and enjoy every beautiful thing that I can.

We wanted to get to know our neighborhood a little since this was our first weekend here, so we ventured out to take a look. This is what we found near our apartment. Oh, should I mention that we both love to take pictures of buildings? Well, we do, so consider yourself warned! I think, however, even the people that don't like to take pictures of buildings will find some of these interesting enough to immortalize on film. The use of color and texture is not something that we are used to seeing in Utah.

This was also the first time we wondered down to Geneva Lake (or
Lac LĂ©man for all of the French speakers out there). Where we saw strange mishaps, a swan's foot for the first time, Jet d'Eau, Neptune's Stone, the Flower Clock, and had our first ice cream cones.

You can't tell from this picture, but the women didn't actually have an ore-it was just a pole. |

Click on this picture to see the rock peaking out of the water. It is Neptune's Stones which has historically been used to determine the city's height over sea level. |
Nicolle, it certainly appears that you are having a grand old adventure in Switzerland! I'm glad you're out seeing the sights, they're not, as you mentioned, like anything you would EVER see in Utah. Don't let the work consume you too much! :)
